Michael Pulis, trumpet
Michael Pulis was born in Luqa on 4th June, 1973 from Nicholas and Jane nee Spiteri. He began his trumpet studies at the St. Andrew’s Band Club (Luqa) under the supervision of Carmelo Baldacchino and then continued his musical studies under Mro. John Calleja, ex-Soloist of the RMA Band. In 1991, he became the Solo trumpet player of the St. Andrew’s Band Club, and with other Maltese band clubs. As a solo player, he played amongst other works the Theme & Varations on the famous “Carnevale di Venezia” of J.B. Arban with the St. Andrew’s Band in 1995.
Michael continued his training with Mro. Roderick Begeja (FLCM) and he gained the ALCM diploma in trumpet practice from the London College of Music in the year 2000. He also graduated with the A(Mus)LCM diploma in the theory of music from the same College in the year 2002. Besides these diplomas, Michael completed the BMus degree with Fairfax University (USA) focusing on music education and graduated in the year 2003.
